Better late than never! See below a recap from yesterday..
Nudgee College Swimming kept the ball rolling on Day 4 of competition out at Chandler with another Gold and 3 Bronze medals!
Swim of the day went to Alyssa Manthey for her fantastic Bronze medal effort in the Girls 12yrs 800m Freestyle. Alyssa did a great job of fighting down the last 50m to fight off the girl from Bond and win her first ever QLD Long Course medal.
Philippa O’Brien stepped up and won her first QLD Long Course Gold medal in the Girls 17/18yrs 800m Freestyle. It was the first time she had ever raced against the top Open swimmers in Queensland and she did a great job from the outside lane to get right on her best time and win the Gold.
Thomas Connellan kept his great swim meet going by grabbing a Bronze medal in the Boys 13yrs 200m Backstroke with a great 4 second best time. He just touched his school mate and team mate out at the finish, Luke Barbour, who swam a great 6.5 second best time to finish in 4th.
Jade Starr won her first ever Open medal in the 200m Backstroke with a great Bronze medal. Jade has kept backing up all week and has been really consistent throughout.
Harrison Turner backed up again with a great 5th placed finish in the Boys 14yrs 200m Butterfly.
Hana Costello and Poppy Stephen placed 6th and 8th in the 12yrs 200m Backstroke to keep their fantastic meets going.
Tiffany Mackay placed 4th in the Girls 15yrs 100m Breaststroke and Ethan Wildin Murrihy and Josh Tomlinson swam best times to make the Boys 100m Backstroke finals and then quicker again in the evening, well done boys.
Day 5 is a big day for the club, really looking forward to it!
