Brisbane SC Championships
Nudgee College Swimming made a great start in the pool to the 2018-19 season with some outstanding performance at the first Brisbane Championship meet of the season.
We won an incredible 33 GOLD, 22 SILVER and 30 BRONZE medals, winning 85 medals in total which is a massive step forwards from 2017 (3 Gold, 7 Silver and 7 Bronze). The most pleasing thing is that we were winning medals from the 9yrs swimmers all the way up to Open events and across all events from 50m through to 1500m.
The three swimmers below also broke 4 records in a great weekend of racing:
Philippa O'Brien broke the 16yrs Girls 800m (8:44.77) & 1500m Freestyle (16:36.31) record on her way to winning 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medals.
Thomas Raymond broke Thomas Neill's 15yrs 1500m Freestyle (15:38.73) record winning 3 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze.
Jade Starr broke 15yrs 400m IM (4:46.48) on her way to winning 5 Golds, 4 Silvers and 1 Bronze medals.
Other medal winners were:
Thomas Connellan 1 Gold, 2 Silvers and 3 Bronze
Hana Costello 6 Golds, 2 Bronzes
Bless Daly 2 Golds and 1 Bronze
Sam Deacon 1 Bronze
Aidan Easton 4 Golds, 2 Silvers and 2 Bronzes
Abby Hanson 1 Bronze
Tiana Kritzinger 3 Bronzes
Tiffany Mackay 2 Golds, 3 Silvers
Jed Manson 2 Golds
Samuel Megaw 1 Silver
Brooke Monte 2 Bronzes
Jessica Mouatt 3 Silvers and 1 Bronze
Dominic Osswald 4 Golds
Coby Richardson 5 Silvers
Tate Robson 1 Gold
Nicole Sanders 3 Bronzes
Tiana Sikacek 1 Bronze
Poppy Stephan 1 Bronze
Josh Tomlinson 1 Bronze
Harrison Turner 2 Bronzes
Lauren Walker 1 Bronze
Millie Warraker 1 Bronze
Another really pleasing stat was that we won 8 Gold, 6 Silver and 7 Bronze medals in IM events. At the start of the season that was a big emphasis of training through the Winter for all squads so it's really pleasing that we saw those results.
Well done to all swimmers who competed - what a brilliant way to start our new season!
