On Day 5 of the Queensland State Championships, Abby Hanson made her first state final in the Girls 14yrs 100 BRS gaining a new best time! Moving on to Day 6...Nudgee Swimmers claimed another 4 medals today on the penultimate day of competition out at Chandler. Swim of the day went to Thomas Raymond for a superb Silver medal in the Boys 15yrs 200m Freestyle in a fantastic best of 1:54.5. Nudgee College Swimming had their best medal haul ever at a State Championships last night ending up with 12 medals from the days swimming; 4 Gold, 4 Silver and 4 Bronze. What an outstanding effort to all who competed! It was such a great night to be a Nudgee Swimming supporter tonight where we had final after final. Better late than never! See below a recap from yesterday.. Nudgee College Swimming kept the ball rolling on Day 4 of competition out at Chandler with another Gold and 3 Bronze medals! Swim of the day went to Alyssa Manthey for her fantastic Bronze medal effort in the Girls 12yrs 800m Freestyle. Queensland State Championships Day 3
The swimmers at Nudgee kept the ball rolling on Day 3 of the Queensland Championships with another 4 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze. That is the most amount of medals won on one night since David Proud started coaching at Nudgee, well done! Swim of the day went to Tom Sands for his Gold medal winning performance in the Boys 13yrs 100m Butterfly. Queensland State Championships Day 2
Nudgee College made a great start to the individual events with 22 Top 10 finishes and another 2 GOLD medals! Swim of the day went to Luke Barbour for his superb BRONZE in the Boys 13yrs 200m Freestyle. Luke started the day on 2:08.6 before dropping to 2:04.1 in the heats and then swimming a further 1.2 seconds quicker last night to go 2:02.9 and win his first individual QLD medal. Well done Luke! Queensland State Championships Day 1
Nudgee College Swimming had an outstanding start to the Queensland Championships absolutely smashing last year’s medal tally after Relays finishing the day with 5 GOLD and 3 BRONZE medals. The club won 2 Bronze medals after relays in 2017. The club placed 2nd on the medal tally after the first day of racing, great effort! The club claimed 20 top 10 finishes which is an incredible effort by all. Swim of the day went to Girls 12/under Medley Relay that were Queensland Champions
